  • 2 cups quick-cooking grits
  • 8 oz smoked gouda cheese (shredded or cubed)
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 1/2 cup Half & Half
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring chicken broth to a boil in a large pot. Stir in minced garlic for added flavor.
  2. Gradually whisk in quick-cooking grits, stirring continuously until thickened (about 5 minutes), then remove from heat.
  3. Mix in smoked gouda and sharp cheddar until melted. In another bowl, combine butter, Half & Half, and beaten eggs; then mix into the cheesy grits along with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour into a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
