Ingredients
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups quick-cooking grits
- 8 oz smoked gouda cheese (shredded or cubed)
- 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 4 beaten eggs
- 1/2 cup Half & Half
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bring chicken broth to a boil in a large pot. Stir in minced garlic for added flavor.
- Gradually whisk in quick-cooking grits, stirring continuously until thickened (about 5 minutes), then remove from heat.
- Mix in smoked gouda and sharp cheddar until melted. In another bowl, combine butter, Half & Half, and beaten eggs; then mix into the cheesy grits along with salt and pepper.
- Pour into a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
