  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate melting wafers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cherries by draining and chopping them into bite-sized pieces; place on paper towels to dry.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream butter and cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually add sugar, then mix in egg, almond extract, vanilla extract, and reserved cherry juice.
  4. Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients until just mixed; gently fold in chopped cherries.
  5. Chill dough for at least one hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Scoop dough onto the prepared sheet and bake for about 10 minutes or until edges are golden. Let cool before transferring to a wire rack.
