Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh crab meat (preferably lump)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Drain and pat dry the crab meat to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg.
  3. Lightly coat the crab meat in flour, dip into the egg wash, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the crab pieces for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
