Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by warming milk, stirring in sugar and yeast, then letting it sit until frothy.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg; mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 6-8 minutes until smooth.
  4. Allow the dough to rise in a greased bowl for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Prepare the caramel topping by melting butter with brown sugar and cream; pour into a baking dish.
  6. Spread softened butter mixed with brown sugar and cinnamon over rolled-out dough; roll tightly and slice into pieces.
  7. Arrange rolls on top of caramel in the baking dish; let rise again for about 30 minutes.
