  • 1 lb ground pork sausage
  • 1012 shrimp, tail off and deveined
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1.5 cups mixed onions and bell peppers, chopped
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp seafood seasoning
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper, more to taste
  • 1/2 tsp salt, more to taste
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook seasoned shrimp in oil for 2-3 minutes per side until curled and pink; set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, brown the hamburger meat and sausage with oil until fully cooked.
  3. Add chopped onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic; sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in seasonings and sprinkle flour over the mixture; slowly add broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
  5. Let simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened; then add cooked rice and stir to combine.
  6. Return shrimp to skillet and mix well before serving hot.
