- 1 lb ground pork sausage
- 10–12 shrimp, tail off and deveined
- 4 cups cooked rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1.5 cups mixed onions and bell peppers, chopped
- 3 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp seafood seasoning
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp pepper, more to taste
- 1/2 tsp salt, more to taste
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook seasoned shrimp in oil for 2-3 minutes per side until curled and pink; set aside.
- In the same skillet, brown the hamburger meat and sausage with oil until fully cooked.
- Add chopped onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic; sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in seasonings and sprinkle flour over the mixture; slowly add broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
- Let simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened; then add cooked rice and stir to combine.
- Return shrimp to skillet and mix well before serving hot.
