  • 11 oz cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • White sparkling sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Roll out the pie crust and cut out 16 heart shapes using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  4. Reroll scraps as needed for additional hearts.
  5. In a bowl, mix the egg and milk for an egg wash.
  6. Place half of the hearts on the baking sheet and brush edges with the egg wash.
  7. Spoon cherry filling onto each heart shape.
  8. Cut “X” shapes in the remaining hearts and place on top of filled hearts; seal edges by crimping.
  9. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with white sugar.
  10. Bake for 14 to 16 minutes until golden brown, then cool before serving.
